A twin-engine, all-weather tactical fighter that was designed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing Defense, Space & Security) in a bid to gain and retain air superiority, the F-15 Eagle is one of the most successful fighter jets of the modern era.????With the design chosen by the United States Air Force in 1967, the F-15 Eagle had its first flight in 1972 before entering into service four years later in 1976. Though its production is slated to end in 2019, this marvel of engineering is expected to remain in service within the US Air Force beyond 2025.
